How to have a safe Christmas tree for those with dementia(part 7)

Today, we will talk about some simple ways to make garland for the tree

Let us talk about garland.

One type of garland asks participants to make strings of popcorn by putting popcorn through a needle onto  strong string.

It is best to use a plastic craft needle, Be aware that popcorn can be a choking hazzard for some people with dementia when they try to eat it. If that is the case, make paper chain or aluminum foil garland. Cut up construction or other colorful paper into 1 by 5 inch strips. scrunch 5 inch by 10 inch pieces of aluminum foil. Then make them……..
